How To Use Branches

Branches are a great way to sort your learners by department, customer type, or any other type of independent divisions you need.

Think of them as sub-accounts within your main account.

1.  To create a new branch, login as Administrator

2.  Go to branches and click add branch.

3.  Give it a name and TalentLMS will create a custom URL into which users will be able to access this branch.

4.  You can also add the description, select the theme, and upload your logo.

5.  A branch can have a different language from your main account, a different time zone, different announcements, or even a different signup.

6.  If you want the branch users to automatically join the group and get its courses, choose the group from the drop-down menu.

7.  Keep in mind that you should first assign group courses to the branch.

8.  Check restrict registration to specific domain to enable registration only for the email addresses from specific domain.

9.  You can check disallow members of this branch to login from main domain URL to forth new users to login only to your branch’s URL

10.  For those using TalentLMS sale course, there is an option to add in terms of service and set e-commerce process or in currency.

11.  If you want to activate monthly or annual subscription to your branch’s courses, Click on “Select your ecommerce processor” to allow you set your payment method or payment process.

12.  For the gamification section, customize the badges to the branch users by selecting a different badge.

13.  When you are happy with the changes, click add branch.

14.  Now, let’s add users to the branch

15.  Go to users. Under “OPTION”, click the plus sign to add users to the branch

16.  You can also assign the administrator to be the branch manager

17.  Let’s add courses to a branch.

18.  Go to courses, and again, add some courses to your branch by clicking the plus button. This will be visible in the branch catalog.

19.  Logout to test how it looks to your learners

20.  Use the branch URL to access your sub-portal. You can find your URL under the name of your branch.

21.  When the learners go to the users profile and click branches, they will see the branch they belong to

22.  By clicking group, they will also see their assigned group

23.  Move to the course catalog and your learners will only see courses assigned to the branch which in this case the default group courses plus one more they can take
